CAREER SUMMARY

Dr Nenad Grujovic is author and coauthor of more than 70 scientific papers in the country and abroad, 6 books/ textbooks, 3 monographs and a number of technical solutions, coordinator of 5 international projects: two Tempus projects and 3 WUS projects, coordinator of sub-projects within the scientific projects of FP6 and INTERREG. He was participant in another 5 European projects. He was the principal researcher and coordinator of 8 projects in the field of information technologies, computer simulation and information systems in water resources and water management, as well as in rapid prototyping (RP) which is used in industry and bioengineering. He also participated in the implementation of 13 research projects, financed by the Ministry of Science Republic of Serbia.

From 2000 – 2004, he was the vice dean for scientific research at Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Kragujevac. Since 2002 till now, he was the founder and director of the Center for Information Technology (CIT). Also, he was a mentor of two student teams that won first place in Serbia 2008 and 2009, and 2nd place in the world 2009 the elite and the biggest student competition in IT Microsoft Imagine Cup.

He speaks English and Russian.

PROFESIONAL CAREER

· From 1983 - present, Member of research team in the development of finite element software package PAK, used in SCG and foreign industries, institutes and universities. PAK is a general-purpose program for linear and nonlinear static and dynamic analyses of structures, heat conduction, fluid mechanics, biomechanics, and coupled problems.

· From 1986 - 1996, as a Teaching Assistant at Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Kragujevac Courses: Rigid Body Mechanics (Statics, Kinematics, Dynamics, Theory of Vibrations), Computer Application and Programming, Numerical Methods in Structural Analysis (Linear FEM), Nonlinear Analysis of Structures (Nonlinear FEM)

· In 1991 was a Visiting Scientist at Harvard School of Public Health Boston, MA, USA. R&D and collaboration in the biomechanics computer simulation

· In 1995 was a Visiting Scientist at National Technical University of Athens, Greece. R&D on numerical models and implementation of a concrete model

· From 1996 - 2001, Assistant Professor at Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Kragujevac Courses: Computer Application and Programming, Programming Languages, Data Bases, Project Management (elective course)

· From 1997 - present, Project manager and principal researcher/developer of Center for Information Technologies (CIT) in a number of national and international projects on Computer simulations, design support and development of information systems in hydrology (projects financed by Serbian Ministry of Science, Electricity Production Company of Serbia, Electricity Production Company of Bosnia, National Institute for Water Resources of Serbia, etc.)

· From 2001 - 2004 was a Vice Dean on R&D at Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Kragujevac

· From 2001 – 2007 was Associate Professor at Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Department of Applied Mechanics and Automatic Control, University of Kragujevac

· From 2002 – present, Founder and principal researcher of Center for Information Technologies (CIT) Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Kragujevac

· From 2007 – present, Full Professor at the Mechanical Engineering Faculty University of Kragujevac for subjects Information technology, Programming, Modeling and Optimization of Production Systems, Rapid Prototyping Technologies.

EDUCATION

· Graduate at the Mechanical Engineering Faculty University of Kragujevac in 1986. Headline of BSC was “Anisotropic beams – Elements of Theory and Application of finite elements method”.

· Defended M. Sc. thesis on “Methods of incremental analysis for non-linear problems in construction calculation” at the Mechanical Engineering Faculty University of Kragujevac in 1989.

· Defended Ph D thesis on “Contact problem solution by finite element method” at the Mechanical Engineering Faculty University of Kragujevac in 1996.
